Christopher Remmers
2025 FellowChristopher Remmers is a classically trained oil painter, educator, and entrepreneur based in Bellingham, Washington. Known for a style of "Mythological Realism," Remmers creates large-scale narrative works that blend classical realism with themes of mythology, mysticism, and psychedelia. His art aims to evoke a sense of awe and transcendence by exploring archetypal motifs and the relationship between humanity and nature. Remmers received his foundational training at the Georgetown Atelier under Tenaya Sims, as well as studying with mentors Virgil Elliott and Steve Huston. His work has since been exhibited and sold internationally, including through Sotheby’s and the Art Renewal Center’s Salon, where he has received multiple awards, such as the Chairman’s Choice Award and Imaginative Realism category. As an educator, he founded the Conscious Creativity Academy, a mentorship program designed to help artists develop their technical skills and authentic vision. He is also the co-founder and Creative Director of Evolving the Myth, an immersive art experience that combines nature-based modalities with narrative art. His creative practice is deeply informed by a long-term practice of Vipassana Meditation and "Wild Mind" soul-craft training.
