Last night I found myself in the far north baggage claim area of SeaTac Airport and stumbled upon yet another display of local art. This wall, in particular, resonated with me — I recognized several of the pieces as I grabbed my luggage off of carousel 5. Sure enough, on closer inspection, five of the artists featured here have appeared in the pages of PublicDisplay.ART, including:

  • Grace Athena Flott
  • Humaria Abid
  • Soo Hong
  • Ilana Zweschi
  • Romson Bustillio

If you’re unfamiliar with the treasure trove of art assembled by Seattle’s Port Authority, I recommend this article published in PublicDisplay.ART in October 2024:

A Look at the Art History of SEA

Written by Amanda Manitach, it beautifully chronicles SeaTac’s long-standing commitment to showcasing local artists.

Before your next takeoff—or after your next arrival—set aside a few extra minutes to explore the hidden corners of the airport. You might discover some truly remarkable art.
