Bumbershoot organizers, Seattle Center officials and law enforcement are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of guests while retaining the entertainment value of Bumbershoot, the Labor Day Weekend signature music festival at the Seattle Center, Saturday and Sunday.

In a statement, Seattle Center officials said, "Seattle Center maintains a variety of campus wide safety and security protocols designed to support a safe environment for all visitors. These include onsite security personnel, routine patrols, and standard security practices used throughout the grounds. Security planning and coordination is unique to each event. Our general safety information is available at https://www.seattlecenter.com/visitor-info/safety

"We continually review and update our protocols and enhance security measures when needed to support the safety of our campus and events.

"In the days and weeks ahead, we will continue working closely with our public safety partners, event organizers, resident organizations, and City leadership to evaluate our response, review existing security measures, and identify opportunities to strengthen safety across our campus."

As for the music, look for local acts such as Bikini Kill, Aryana León, Oblé Reed, Suzzallo, Anthers and Travis Thompson perform on Saturday. Death Cab for Cutie headlines on Sunday. Lucha Luna, Hannah Duckworth, Morgan Paris Lanza and Daughters of Venus also perform on Sunday.
