The day kicks off with a lunch-time jazz concert at Occidental Fine Arts in Pioneer Square. Bring your own lunch to this free concert featuring the Jacob Zimmerman 3 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Then, from 6 to 8:30 pm, ArtLove Salon in Downtown Seattle hosts the Paper Fashion Show presented by the local chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA).

The saxophonist Zimmerman leads the Seattle jazz trio that also features Matt Weiner on bass and Hans Teuber on tenor saxophone and clarinet. Zimmerman is a product of the award-winning Garfield High School jazz program. He would continue to train in jazz saxophone at The New England Conservatory in Boston and later study composition at Mills College in Oakland.

Zimmerman returned to Seattle in 2012 to pursue his professional career as saxophonist and clarinetist. In 2019 he teamed up with Rachael & Vilray to record their first two albums, the self-titled “Rachael & Vilray” and “I Love A Love Song!”. Zimmerman performed and arranged songs on both albums. As a bandleader, Zimmerman plays concerts and holds down several weekly gigs in Seattle. In addition to his trio, Zimmerman performs with Ray Skjelbred, Jonathan Doyle, among others.

This is the first year that ArtLove Salon hosts the Paper Fashion Show. Over two dozen designers transform paper donations by local and national companies "into wearable works of art,” according to organizers. The evening will feature a runway presentation, with a panel of judges recognizing standout designs across several award categories. Live voting will award the top prize of $500 and $100 for the runner-up.
