Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) presents the first-ever retrospective of Heikki Seppä (1927–2010), a pioneering Finnish metalsmith and one of the most influential figures in 20th-century metalwork. Featuring more than 50 works from BIMA’s Permanent Art Collection, the exhibition showcases his innovative techniques through intricate jewelry, silver serving pieces, and sculptural works. Part of Handwork 2026, the exhibition also highlights Seppä’s lasting legacy through his handmade tools, teaching materials, and works by contemporary artists inspired by his techniques.
